Pye Road

Pye Road (Margary route 3d) is a Roman road in eastern England running from Venta Icenorum (Caistor St Edmund near Norwich) to the legionary base at Camulodunum (Colchester), passing through three counties: Norfolk, Suffolk, and Essex. Later extended to Londinium (London), the southern section is also known as the Great Road. Roman roadside settlements existed along the route at Long Stratton and Scole (Villa Faustini), with the road also passing through Coddenham (Combretovium), which had an auxiliary fort and vicus.
