Lynford Quarry

Approximately 60,000 years ago, Lynford Quarry near Mundford, Norfolk, was a Middle Palaeolithic hunting site where Neanderthals killed and butchered at least nine woolly mammoths. The site contains in-situ mammoth remains associated with Mousterian stone tools and debitage, providing rare evidence of Neanderthal hunting behavior in England. [1]
