Mount Pleasant Henge

Mount Pleasant is a Neolithic mega-henge enclosure in Dorset, England, southeast of Dorchester in the parish of West Stafford. The egg-shaped enclosure measures approximately 370m along its long axis and dates to around 2500 BC, making it one of five known mega-henges in southern Britain. Rediscovered by Stuart Piggott in 1936 and excavated by Geoffrey Wainwright in 1970-71, the site contained a timber palisade, a large round mound, and concentric timber and stone structures. The adjacent Conquer Barrow rises about 8m high and 30m across.
