A Bronze Age barrow cemetery dating to approximately 1500 BC near the A35 road west of Winterbourne Abbas in Dorset, England. The site contains 44 round barrows including bowl, bell, disc, and pond types -- the largest measuring 35 metres in diameter and 2.5 metres high. Unusually situated on low-lying ground rather than a hilltop, the cemetery lies in a region with the highest density of Bronze Age barrows in the British Isles. Two pond barrows excavated in 1952-53 revealed pits and flint paving but no burials. Managed by English Heritage.
