Abbotsbury Castle is an Iron Age hillfort in southwest Dorset, England, situated on Wears Hill above the village of Abbotsbury, seven miles west of Dorchester and Maiden Castle [1]. The bivallate contour hillfort occupies a triangular area of approximately 4 hectares on Upper Greensand sandstones, overlooking Chesil Beach and Portland [2]. It developed from an earlier univallate hillfort and features two ramparts with a medial ditch between them [3].
