Pike Hill Signal Tower

Built in the early 2nd century AD, Pike Hill Signal Tower was a Roman signal station constructed on high ground overlooking the Stanegate road in northern Britannia [1]. The tower was later incorporated into Hadrian's Wall and is situated between Turret 51B and Turret 52A, with the fort of Banna located to the east [1]. Today, only a 2-metre fragment of the southeast wall remains, lying south of a modern road cutting and field wall in the parish of Waterhead, Cumberland, United Kingdom [1].
