Highbury Hill, Clutton

An Iron Age univallate hillfort occupying 3 hectares of woodland at the southeastern end of a narrow ridge in Clutton, Somerset. The defences include a 0.5-metre outer bank and a shallow 8-metre-wide ditch, with steep natural slopes providing additional protection on all sides. Designated a Scheduled Ancient Monument, the site yielded Roman silver coins in the late 18th century, suggesting continued use or visitation beyond the Iron Age.
