Stantonbury Camp

Stantonbury Camp is a univallate Iron Age hillfort covering less than 3 acres near Stanton Prior in Somerset, England. Situated atop an isolated outcrop of Oolitic Limestone, its northern rampart is overlain by the Wansdyke, a massive post-Roman earthwork. Archaeological finds include iron agricultural implements such as sickle blades and an ard tip, now in the British Museum. The site is a Scheduled Ancient Monument listed on the English Heritage Heritage at Risk Register due to animal burrowing damage.
