EnglandA Neolithic chambered tomb over 5,000 years old on a ridge overlooking the Golden Valley and Wye Valley in Herefordshire, England. Its massive capstone, estimated at over 25 tonnes, rests on nine upright stones. Recent excavations (2021-2025) by Manchester and Cardiff universities revealed two construction phases: first a simple dolmen with a circular stone bank, later expanded into a trapezoidal Cotswold-Severn-style long barrow. Finds include worked rock crystal, pitchstone from Scotland's Isle of Arran, and human bone deposits.
