Broadbury Castle

Broadbury Castle is an archaeological earthwork on a high ridge near Beaworthy in Devon, consisting of a single bank and ditch enclosing a nearly square area of 58 by 68 m with rounded corners. Historic England classifies it as a Roman marching camp, though firm evidence is lacking and an alternative interpretation as an Iron Age or Romano-British civilian settlement has been proposed. A second rampart survives on the northern and eastern sides, with internal dimensions of 69 m by 61 m. The site is legally protected as a Scheduled Monument.
