Knossos is a Bronze Age archaeological site on Crete that served as a major centre of the Minoan civilization [1]. It is famously associated with the Greek myth of Theseus and the Minotaur [1]. Located on the outskirts of modern Heraklion, the site is considered by many scholars to be Europe's oldest city [1].
