Bull-Leaping Fresco
Frédéric Boissonnas · Public domain

(c. 1450-1400 BC) The Bull-Leaping Fresco is the most completely restored of several stucco relief panels originally located on the upper-story east wall of the Minoan palace at Knossos, Crete[1]. It depicts a bull-leaping scene with three figures—a bull, a leaper, and an attendant—rendered in polychrome hues including white, pale red, dark red, blue, and black[1]. The panels represent mature Minoan art, dating no earlier than MM III, and were likely destroyed during the palace’s destruction in LM II, possibly by earthquake[1].
