Roman Villa of Vilares

An archaeological site in Alcabideche, Cascais, discovered in the early 21st century during residential development. Excavations between 2007 and 2008 revealed remnants of a Roman villa with terra sigillata ceramics and imbrices, a necropolis with tombs, and evidence of occupation spanning from the Iron Age through the Moorish period. Islamic-era silos were also found alongside the Roman structures, demonstrating the site's long multicultural history across several centuries of habitation.
