Praia das Maçãs Prehistoric Monument

The Praia das Maçãs Prehistoric Monument (Tholos of Outeiro das Mós) is a necropolis combining an artificial Neolithic cave with a Chalcolithic domed beehive tomb, dating to 4500–3000 BC [1]. Located near Praia das Maçãs beach in Colares, Sintra, it was discovered in 1927 and classified as a national monument in 1974 [1].
