Anta de Agualva

A neo-Chalcolithic megalithic dolmen approximately 5,000 years old, located in an urban area of Agualva-Cacem, Sintra municipality, Lisbon District, Portugal. Also known as Anta do Carrascal, it was first identified by Carlos Ribeiro in 1875. The polygonal chamber measures 3.7 by 3.8 metres and was formed by seven orthostats. Excavations revealed remains of at least 9 adults and 5 non-adults, along with engraved schist fragments. Registered as a National Monument in 1910 and restored in 2017 within the Jardim da Anta park.
