A Roman villa in Colares, Sintra, occupied from the 1st century AD until at least the mid-5th century. A funerary inscription and mosaic were first discovered in 1905, with systematic excavations conducted between 1985 and 1990. An early 20th-century road cut through the central peristyle, dividing the site into the pars urbana (manor house) to the north and pars rustica (agricultural annexes with pottery kilns and storage tanks) to the south. The manor house contained the largest group of mosaics identified in the Lisbon region, dating to the second half of the 3rd century. Finds are housed at the Archaeological Museum of Sao Miguel de Odrinhas.
