Bremenium was a Roman fort (castrum) at Rochester, Northumberland, built along Dere Street, a major Roman road connecting York to Corbridge and onwards to Melrose[1]. Located significantly north of Hadrian's Wall, it was one of five Roman outpost stations beyond the Wall[2]. The fort was among the last to remain occupied in the north until the 270s AD[1].
