A wealthy Roman villa in Sao Domingos de Rana, Cascais, occupied from the Iron Age through the 5th century AD. Excavated between 1985 and 2002, the site revealed a peristyle domus with polychrome mosaics, private thermae with three temperature zones, a monumental granary comparable only to Monroy in Spain, and an olive mill. Discoveries include an altar dedicated to the deity Triborunis, glass vessels, and a solar quadrant. A necropolis southeast of the villa contained both cremation and inhumation burials. One of the most important Roman villa finds on the Iberian Peninsula.
