A hilltop near Gilfach Goch in Rhondda Cynon Taf, south Wales, whose Welsh name means 'stone house mountain' (maen dy = stone house). The summit hosts an Iron Age hillfort described as the largest undefended Iron Age settlement in southeast Wales. The hillfort is a Scheduled Monument and features on the Register of Landscapes of Special Historic Interest in Wales, recognizing its archaeological and historical value. The site also hosts one of the earliest wind farms in Britain, operational since 1993, with turbines visible from over 20 miles away.
