La Garma Cave Complex

The La Garma Cave Complex is a parietal art-bearing paleoanthropological cave system in Cantabria, Spain, located just north of the village of Omoño in the municipality of Ribamontán al Monte [1]. The cave complex contains more than 4,000 fossils and over 500 graphical units, including 109 signs, 92 animal figures, and 40 hand stencils [2]. It is noted for having one of the best preserved floors from the Paleolithic period in Europe [1]. La Garma is part of the Cave of Altamira and Paleolithic Cave Art of Northern Spain World Heritage Site [1].
