Žitorađa

Zitoradja is a town and municipality in the Toplica District of southern Serbia whose origins trace to the 4th-century Eastern Roman (Byzantine) town of Ad Herculum. The archaeological remains of this Byzantine settlement are known as Zitoradsko kale, a fortified site located on Pasjaca mountain. A 'Latin church' dating to the same period survives in nearby Glasince. The municipality lies 35 km southwest of Nis, near Corridor 10, and preserves evidence of its role in the late Roman defensive network of the region.
