Knowth

Knowth is a major Neolithic passage tomb in the Boyne Valley, County Meath, Ireland, constructed around 3200 BC. The Great Mound contains two independent passages along an east-west axis, with the eastern passage extending approximately 40 metres, making it the longest megalithic passage in Western Europe. The site includes 18 satellite tombs and is encircled by 127 kerbstones. Knowth contains roughly a quarter of all Western European Neolithic megalithic art, with over 200 decorated stones. It is part of the Bru na Boinne UNESCO World Heritage Site, inscribed in 1993.
