Ireland's tallest dolmen at 5 metres from base to capstone top, located on the eastern slopes of Brown Mountain in County Kilkenny. Also called Leac an Scail ("Rock of the Hero"), this National Monument was built c. 3800-3000 BC using granite with quartz veins. The capstone measures 5 m by 3.2 m, resting on portal stones reaching 3.59 m and 3.55 m high respectively. The entrance faces northeast toward the summer solstice sunrise, with a door-stone between the portals.
