A coastal settlement on the foothills of Mount Olympos in Pieria, Central Macedonia, Greece, within the municipality of Dio-Olympos. The area is rich in archaeological heritage, with the nearby Crusader-era Castle of Platamon (1204-1222 AD) built over the remains of the ancient Greek city of Herakleion, where a Hellenistic wall from the 2nd century BC was discovered. The region also lies close to ancient Dion, Macedonia's sacred city at the foot of Mount Olympus, which was inhabited from the 5th century BC to the 5th century AD.
