Spathes

Spathes (Greek Σπάθες, "swords") is a Late Bronze Age necropolis on Mount Olympus, among the first archaeological sites discovered there[1]. The oldest tombs date to the 14th century BC, with the last traces of use found from the end of the 13th century BC to the beginning of the 12th century BC[1]. The associated settlement has not been discovered[1]. Many burial offerings were made in the Mycenaean style, suggesting the Mycenaean cultural circle extended beyond Thessaly into Pieria[1].
