Museum of the Royal Tombs of Aigai, Vergina

The Museum of the Royal Tombs of Aigai (Vergina) is an underground museum in Greece, 75 km west of Thessaloniki, centered around the royal tombs of the ancient Kingdom of Macedon at Aigai[1]. Construction began in 1993 and the museum opened in 1997[1]. It features four connected exhibition areas: the Palace, the royal burial cluster of the Temenid dynasty (cluster "C"), Philip II of Macedon's burial cluster, and a gateway with semi-open-air sculptures from city sanctuaries[1].
