Dimini

Dimini is a prehistoric settlement near Volos in Thessaly, Greece, with remains dating from before 4500 BC[1]. The site contains both a Neolithic settlement (5th-4th millennium BC) and a later Mycenean settlement[1]. The Neolithic area was discovered in the late 19th century and first excavated by archaeologists Christos Tsountas and Valerios Stais[1]. The settlement was the seat of the ancient municipality of Aisonia, whose name dates back to classical times[1]. Today, Dimini remains the westernmost settlement in the Volos metropolitan area[1].
