Züschen - Megalithic Tomb

The Züschen tomb (Steinkammergrab von Züschen) is a Late Neolithic burial monument near Fritzlar, Hesse, Germany. Built between 4500-3000 BC, it is classified as a gallery grave or Hessian-Westphalian stone cist and ranks among Central Europe's most significant megalithic monuments[1]. Its defining feature is the presence of incised carvings on its interior walls—a rare artistic tradition previously documented only at tomb I in Warburg, making it a unique example of prehistoric rock art within the Wartberg culture[2].
