Whitsbury Castle

Whitsbury Castle Ditches is an Iron Age hillfort near Whitsbury in Hampshire, on a chalk outcrop [1]. Excavations reveal multi-period use spanning from Mesolithic activity through Bronze Age ranch boundaries, Iron Age settlement, and Anglo-Saxon renovation of the defenses [1]. A D-shaped Middle Iron Age hut was discovered during 1960 excavations [2]. The site has been a Scheduled Monument since 1925 [1].
