Castle Hill, Hampshire

Castle Hill is an Iron Age univallate hillfort in Burley, New Forest, Hampshire, England. Its single rampart and ditch enclose approximately 5 acres of land [1]. The earthworks are in reasonable condition, though cut through by modern tracks. The bank reaches its highest point on the eastern side, while the western slope drops away steeply. Parts of the interior are marshy, with oak, silver birch, holly and bracken growing throughout. The site is a Scheduled Ancient Monument [1]. According to local legend, the hill was once home to a dragon slain by a knight from nearby Brook [1].
