Shaftoe Crags Settlement

Shaftoe Crags Settlement is an Iron Age and Romano-British archaeological site in Northumberland, England, located 13 km (8 miles) west of Morpeth. The site features a curving rampart of stone and earth, approximately 7 metres wide and up to 1 metre high, extending south-east from Salters Nick. Combined with natural crag defenses to the south, west, and north, the rampart encloses an irregular area. Designated as a scheduled monument, the site provides evidence of continuous occupation from the Iron Age through the Romano-British period.[1]
