Prestonbury Castle

Prestonbury Castle is an Iron Age hillfort on the northeast edge of Dartmoor in Devon, overlooking the Teign Valley at 240m above sea level. The site comprises three enclosures covering 6.4 hectares, with its outworks never completed. A simple entrance faces east on the moderate slope, while steep valley slopes provide natural defence to the south. It lies near two other hillforts, Cranbrook Castle and Wooston Castle, both roughly 2km away. The site is listed on the Heritage at Risk Register due to degradation from ploughing.
