Hembury Castle is an Iron Age hillfort located about a mile north-west of Buckfast village on the south-eastern edge of Dartmoor in Devon, England[1]. The fort stands at approximately 178 metres above sea level on a promontory between the River Dart to the east and Holy Brook to the south-west[1]. The slope down to the River Dart is very steep, and the area is covered by Hembury Woods, now designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest[1]. The hillfort is estimated to cover about 2.8 hectares.
