Myrtlebury

Myrtlebury is an Iron Age hillslope enclosure near Lynmouth in Devon, England, situated on Exmoor above the steep East Lyn River valley at approximately 150 metres elevation. The univallate spur fort covers about 0.6 hectares, with its uphill western side defended by a strong bank (4.5m wide, 1.6m high) and rock-cut ditch, while the eastern side relies on the natural cliff for protection. Seven internal platforms likely served as building stances. Designated a Scheduled Ancient Monument (Devon No. 710), it is owned by the National Trust.
