Halwell Camp

Halwell Camp is an Iron Age hill fort (c. 1500-500 BC) situated close to the village of Halwell in Devon, England [1]. The fort occupies a strategic position on a pass between two hilltops to the east of the village, at approximately 185 metres (607 ft) above sea level [1]. As a defensive structure of the late Iron Age, the site would have served as a fortified settlement and administrative center for the local tribal community. The elevated ridge location provided natural defenses while controlling movement through the valley below.
