Eccles Roman Villa

Eccles Roman Villa is a 1st–4th century AD residence in Kent, England. Excavated between 1962 and 1976, the villa reached 112 metres in length during the 2nd century, making it one of the largest Roman villas in Britain. Over 135 rooms have been identified across multiple construction phases. The site was abandoned in the 4th century and much of its fabric was dismantled in the 13th century to build Aylesford Priory. The villa occupies the east side of the Medway Valley.[1]
