Cossington, Kent

Cossington is a small settlement on Blue Bell Hill north of Maidstone, Kent, notable as the site of a spring and a now-vanished group of sarsen stones thought to be remains of a Neolithic chambered long barrow and one of the Medway megaliths. A former line of sarsens reportedly connected Hale Farm to the Cossington Springs, but these stones were removed for farming or construction over the centuries. Close to Kit's Coty House and the Countless Stones, the site lies within the broader Medway megalithic landscape where monuments were built from local sarsen stone between the 4th and 3rd millennia BC.
