Day House Lane Stone Circle

Day House Lane Stone Circle, also known as Coate Stone Circle, is a Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age sarsen megalith circle near Coate on the southeastern edge of Swindon, Wiltshire. Antiquarian A. D. Passmore estimated the original diameter at approximately 69 metres with over thirty stones; by the 1890s only nine survived, reduced to five partly buried stones by the early 21st century. It was one of at least seven stone circles erected in the area south of Swindon, part of a wider ritual landscape linked to nearby Avebury (9 miles southwest). The site is a Scheduled Monument protected under the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Areas Act 1979.
