Miholjanec

Miholjanec is a village in Croatia and one of the country's oldest settlements, with occupation since at least the Iron Age. During the late Iron Age, a people known as the bini populi built a hill fort on a high plateau covering 6 hectares, surrounded by a moat. Their identity remains debated, with scholars variously identifying them as Romans, Scythians, Greeks, Goths, or Germans. A cenotaph discovered in the village was dated in the 1960s to the late Iron Age, further confirming the site's ancient origins.
