Aquae Iasae

Aquae Iasae was a Roman settlement and bath complex at modern Varazdinske Toplice, Croatia, active from the 1st to 4th centuries AD. Named "Waters of the Jasi" after the local Illyrian tribe, it grew into a major medical, religious, and economic center of Pannonia Superior. Excavations since 1953 uncovered 6,000 sq m of Roman architecture including swimming pools, a basilica, a forum, and a Capitolium with temples to Jupiter, Juno, and Minerva. Restored by Emperor Constantine after Gothic raids.
