Alikomektepe

Alikomektepe is a Chalcolithic settlement dating to c. 5000 BC, located on the Incechay river near Uchtepe village in the Jalilabad District of Azerbaijan. Its early levels belong to the Shulaveri-Shomu culture, with upper levels showing northern Ubaid-period influences. Excavations across 600 square meters yielded over 300 samples of painted pottery with geometric motifs and ceramics closely related to Iran's Dalma ware. The site also produced domesticated horse bones, among the earliest evidence of horse domestication in Eurasia.
