Ex voto of the Lacaedemonians

The Ex voto of the Lacaedemonians was a monumental bronze sculptural group at Delphi, Greece, dedicated by the Spartans to commemorate their victory over Athens at the Battle of Aegospotami in 405 BC [1]. Located to the left of the entrance to the sanctuary of Apollo and opposite the base of the Arcadians, the complex originally comprised 38 bronze statues [1]. The monument depicted the Dioscuri (Castor and Pollux), Zeus, Apollo, Artemis, and the Spartan navarch Lysander receiving a crown from Poseidon, along with the Spartan generals who commanded the fleet [1].
