Omphalos of Delphi

The Omphalos of Delphi is an ancient marble monument discovered at the archaeological site of Delphi, Greece[1]. According to Greek mythology, Zeus released two eagles from opposite ends of the world to find the center of the Earth; they met at Delphi, where Zeus placed a sacred stone to mark the spot[1]. The word omphalos means navel in Greek, and Delphi was considered the navel (center) of the world[1]. The stone served as a symbolic marker for the Delphic Oracle, one of the most important religious sanctuaries in ancient Greece[1].
