Ex voto of the Arcadians, Delphi

A monumental votive offering at the Sanctuary of Apollo in Delphi, dedicated by the Arcadians, particularly the Tegeates, after their victorious campaign in Laconia alongside the Thebans in 370/369 BC. The monument consisted of nine bronze statues depicting Apollo, Nike, and Arcadian heroes including Callisto and Arcas, mounted on a nine-meter-long oblong stone base along the Sacred Way. Strategically positioned opposite Sparta's monument commemorating Aegospotami (405 BC), it symbolized Arcadian liberation from Spartan dominance following the Battle of Leuctra.
