Located opposite Luxor, it is considered a masterpiece of ancient architecture[2]. Its three massive terraces rise from the desert floor into the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari[3]. The temple's east-west axis received the barque of Amun-Re during the Beautiful Festival of the Valley[4].
