Mortuary Temple of Seti I

The Mortuary Temple of Seti I stands in the Theban Necropolis at Qurna, across the Nile from modern Luxor. Built circa 1280 BC toward the end of Seti I's reign, it was likely completed by his son Ramesses II. The complex was enclosed by a mud-brick wall 124 metres wide and 162 metres long. It features an unusual L-shaped plan, with fine relief decoration on its papyrus-bud columns and a chapel dedicated to Seti's father Ramesses I. Much of the eastern section now lies buried beneath the modern town of Qurna.
