A Minoan temple on the northern slope of Mount Juktas, Crete, about 7 km from Knossos, excavated in 1979 by Yannis Sakellarakis. The building consists of three rectangular rooms with a north-facing corridor. Destroyed by earthquake around 1700 BC, the site yielded controversial evidence of what excavators interpreted as human sacrifice: a young man found on an altar with a bronze blade and signs of exsanguination. This interpretation remains debated among scholars.
