Hillsborough is a local nature reserve in Ilfracombe, North Devon, known locally as the 'sleeping elephant' [1]. The site contains the remains of an Iron Age hill fort [1]. Purchased by the local council in the late nineteenth century to prevent development, it is a pleasant coastal area where visitors may roam [1].
