Sushkivka

Sushkivka is the site of a Cucuteni-Trypillia mega-settlement in Ukraine dating to approximately 3600-3200 BC. Covering about 100 hectares (250 acres), it was among the largest settlements in Chalcolithic Europe, part of a phenomenon where over 29 Trypillia sites exceeded 100 hectares. These proto-cities in the Ukrainian forest steppe represent some of the earliest known large-scale human settlements, predating Mesopotamian urbanization and demonstrating sophisticated planning and social organization during the 4th millennium BC.
