Maidanetske

Maidanetske is a Cucuteni-Trypillian mega-site in central Ukraine, continuously occupied between approximately 3990 and 3640 cal BCE. Geomagnetic surveys revealed up to 3,000 houses arranged in concentric rings across roughly 270 hectares, making it one of the largest prehistoric settlements in Europe. At peak occupation around 3700 BC, an estimated 5,940 to 7,160 residents lived there simultaneously, though some models suggest higher figures. Excavations uncovered mega-structures likely used as community assembly halls, a pottery production site, and a causewayed enclosure.
